IDEC is a volunteer organization of licensed Amateur Radio operators supporting the City of Irvine’s emergency preparedness plan and general public safety by providing a flexible, technical resource which is skilled in disaster response functions and emergency communications.

  • IDEC Net** - Each Thursday at 7:00 pm on the Tango repeater 449.580 (-), for equipment tests, upcoming calendar items and general announcements.  Please check-in.  CERT hams and Visitor check-ins are welcome.  
  • Simplex Net - First Thursday of the month immediately following the IDEC Net.      
  • Vicki Brek - Second Saturday of the month - February 14, 2026 @ 08:00 (8:00AM)
        This is a no host breakfast meeting held at Knowlwood, Sand Canyon @ Burt - Visitors welcome!
        Don't forget your IDEC Fundraiser flier! IDEC receives 15% cash-back.
  • IDEC Board Meeting - Thursday March 12, 2026. On Zoom. All members are welcome to attend.
  • Tech Committee - Wednesday March 11, 2026. On Zoom.

  • MESH Net Meeting on Zoom - Every 3rd Tuesday. RSVP on HCOL. 
    Credentials will be emailed out. Next Meeting is on February 17, 2026.

IDEC Training
NIMS (National Incident Management System) Training
 
All IDEC applicants must complete this training prior to membership. For the City of Irvine, every City employee (including IDEC members) shall be required to take this training.

The required NIMS classes and their tests can be found at: Emergency Management Institute (NIMS) 
  • ICS-100 Introduction to the Incident Command System
  • ICS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
  • ICS-700 National Incident Management System: An Introduction
